The city of Reno could transfer full ownership of Greater Nevada Field to the Reno Aces’ owners in exchange for a 20-year non-relocation commitment and $40 million investment into the ballpark area.
The Reno Redevelopment Agency advisory board will meet Monday to discuss the stadium agreement restructuring term sheet with the redevelopment agency expected to take formal action on the item Wednesday.
The stadium-usage agreement was first struck in 2007 with the Aces moving to Northern Nevada in 2009. The $50 million stadium was built via a public-private partnership and funded by a rental-car tax surcharge in Washoe County. The stadium is publicly owned and privately operated, although that would change under the proposed stadium agreement restructuring.
