The Atlanta-area office of the National Weather Service wrote in all caps on Facebook that this is an ice storm, not a snow storm. As such, more warnings are popping up all over Georgia.

Ice storm warnings cover all of north Georgia and much of central Georgia. Just before 1 p.m. Friday, new warnings were issued to cover the Augusta area including Richmond, Columbia, Aiken, McDuffie, and Edgefield counties among others. Burke County is under a winter weather advisory.
