MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged two Morganton people after they broke into an assisted living facility this week.
Deputies said that 32-year-old Gage Allen Marcus and 60-year-old Karen Lavern Marcus were each charged with felony breaking and/or entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. Both were granted $7,500 secured bonds.
Officials reported that on Jan. 13, the owner of a local assisted living facility reported a break-in. The facility had been closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene.
