At 12:57 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid from Sunday 7 a.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for Northern Erie as well as Niagara and Genesee counties.
The weather service says to expect, “Total snow accumulations 10 to 15 inches.”
“Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” adds the weather service. “Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions. Consider delaying travel. If you must travel, drive with extreme caution. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns.”
