Police swiftly arrest suspect following North Charleston bank heist

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — North Charleston Police arrested a suspect minutes after a reported bank robbery Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched just after 2 p.m. to the South Carolina State Credit Union at 6750 Rivers Ave. following a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, employees identified the suspect and said he had robbed the business, police said.

The suspect, identified as 67-year-old Bruce Eric Washington of North Charleston, was taken into custody without incident.
