Local school districts have announced their plans ahead of potential icy conditions on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
The plans come ahead of a sharp temperature drop late Sunday night which will cause a flash freeze, turning wet roads, bridges, overpasses, and walkways into widespread black ice.
Travel will be hazardous from overnight through midday Monday, especially on less-traveled or shaded roads, since earlier rain won’t dry before freezing.
