Max Metcalf of Greenville County has been named chairman of the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission. The appointment was made during the Commission’s meeting on Jan. 15, 2026, in Columbia.
Metcalf said he is honored by the vote of confidence from his fellow commissioners and emphasized the importance of transportation to the state’s future.
“Our state’s transportation system is the backbone of South Carolina’s economy and quality of life,” Metcalf said. “Together, we’ll continue building momentum to connect people, support jobs, and strengthen our state for generations to come.”…
