LUMBERTON — Laniya Mitchell, a student at Lumberton High School, has made a name for herself in the world of bowling.
Bowling often goes overlooked in the world of competitive sports, according to Mitchell, but it can offer the same benefits as any other sport, whether physical, mental or financial.
“When I first started high school,” Mitchell said, “I was very shy. Others used to laugh about me being the quiet one, but now I just talk to everyone. I feel like I can really put myself out there, and I’ve learned how to help others.”…
