EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Local activists say the East Lansing community has “lost trust” in the police department.
It comes after an officer with the department is claiming to be “cleared” of wrong-doing for his involvement in the controversial MSU Welcome Week pepper-spraying incident.
Police Chief Jennifer Brown told the Police Oversight Commission the department would not investigate their complaint about the incident. She says she was advised by the city attorney to do so because of pending federal litigation.
