PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — A Chickasaw teenager is on the mend after the Prichard Police Department told News 5 he was hit by a car while riding his e-bike in the city Sunday evening.

Anthony Escalante said he was riding to his grandparents’ house when he turned off the sidewalk to cross the intersection of Foch Street and North Wilson Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on Jan. 18.
“I look back, I went to turn, I didn’t see any car, and the car hit me. [It] kept going, and I just slam onto the ground and slide about 20 feet,” Escalante said.
Escalante said the car seemed to come out of nowhere. After the crash, he said he frantically grabbed his bike out of the road and called his mother, Ashley Klingsmith, not knowing where the driver went.
“It was the scariest moment of my life,” Klingsmith said.
“I was just scared. I didn’t know what condition he was in,” Klingsmith said. “As soon as I seen him, I just burst into tears and gave him a hug.”…
