In Orange County, over 450,000 older adults account for 14.3% of the county’s population. By 2045, this number is projected to increase to 17.3%, according to the California Department of Aging. A new housing community in Rancho Mission Viejo is filling the growing need for housing for older adults with a holistic, wellness-minded approach.
Rancho Mission Viejo celebrated the opening of its newest exclusive 55+ village, Gavilán Ridge, earlier this month, giving prospective homebuyers an opportunity to tour five new neighborhoods from Tri Pointe Homes, Lennar and Del Webb: Lavender, Nova, Strata, Luna and Elara.
At the grand opening ceremony on Jan. 11, more than 1,200 potential homebuyers toured Rancho Mission Viejo’s 23,000-acre ranch and farm habitat reserve in South Orange County. Built on a historic cattle ranch known as Ranch Camp, the community offers modern homes for a family-oriented lifestyle. From the agricultural to the resort-style amenities, this neighborhood offers trails, pools and farms, with a focus on health and wellness.
