SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Fire Department responded to a fire on First North Street on the evening of Jan. 21.
The fire department said crews were dispatched to the fire at 711 First North St. around 8:39 p.m. Initially, crews could not see any fire or smoke on the outside of the two-story building. Firefighters entered the building and saw smoke on the first floor.
The fire department opened walls inside the building to find where the smoke was coming from. The fire was found inside the walls. The department said it started inside a kitchen wall cavity. It was put out within 10 minutes…
