2 firefighters injured, 8 cows killed in massive Gibsonburg barn fire

GIBSONBURG – Two firefighters were injured and several animals died in a Gibsonburg barn fire Jan. 23, which was complicated by cold and winds that fanned the flames, lighting up hundreds of bales of hay and straw.

Gibsonburg Fire Chief Marty Brown said that this fire was particularly difficult from three factors: the weather, large amounts of combustible bales of hay and the logistics of bringing in more than 100,000 gallons of water.
