Norristown man acquitted of gunpoint robbery charges

NORRISTOWN — A jury acquitted a Norristown man of robbery, gun, and conspiracy-related charges in connection with the gunpoint robbery of three brothers in the borough.

“This is the very thing I thought it would be because I never did nothing,” Desmond Amea Strickland, 19, of the 200 block of Nassau Place, reacted after a jury of seven women and five men acquitted him of charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, carrying a firearm without a license, possessing a concealed weapon and conspiracy in connection with an Oct. 14, 2024, gunpoint robbery of three brothers.

During the trial, prosecutors Tanner Christian Beck and Jediah Grobstein alleged Strickland took part in the 8:56 p.m. robbery with Hashiem Qualeem Holly, 21, of the 200 block of East Oak Street in Norristown, who previously pleaded guilty to the robbery charges and is awaiting sentencing…
