Pillen dodges questions about town hall comments, no-bid contract

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Gov. Jim Pillen’s team shielded him from questions about controversial topics during his attendance at an Omaha Chamber event Friday promoting his “Grow the Good Life” legislative initiative.

At the conclusion of Friday’s news conference on LB1165, promoting economic growth in the state in order to recruit and keep families in Nebraska, reporters asked Pillen about comments he made a tele-town hall earlier this week.

The governor approached the podium as he was asked for a response to comments that have affected Nebraskans with disabilities and other special needs and the communities and families who support them — but his spokeswoman shut down the reporter, and Pillen backed away from the mic…
