Rock Co. Sheriff: No active threat on UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus after fireworks likely set off

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – Rock County officials do not believe there is an active threat on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County campus, saying what was initially reported as shots fired was likely fireworks.

Rock County Sheriff Curtis Fell said the report of three shots came in just before 3 p.m. Friday on or near the UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus.
