Gilbert officially broke ground on Phase II of Desert Sky Park, marking a major milestone in the continued expansion of one of the community’s most popular parks. Construction is expected to take approximately 24 months to complete.
Town leaders, Parks and Recreation staff, and project teams gathered Thursday morning to celebrate the start of construction on the highly anticipated next phase, which will bring inclusive amenities and recreation to residents of all ages and abilities.
Phase II will include the addition of five new multi-use fields, helping address one of Gilbert’s most pressing recreation challenges, along with new playgrounds, a splash pad, eight pickleball courts, a new point of entry, and more.
