Chinatown Parking Lot Horror: 26-Year-Old Nabbed After Maunakea Street Death

A 26-year-old man is in custody after Honolulu police discovered a 62-year-old man unresponsive in a Chinatown parking lot this week and later classified the case as a homicide investigation, authorities said.

Officers were called to an open lot fronting 1188 Maunakea Street, where they found the older man unresponsive. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

As reported by KITV, the victim had previously told officers he was assaulted at a nearby location at about 4 a.m. the day before he was found. KITV also reported that a 26-year-old man was arrested in Chinatown on Thursday on suspicion of manslaughter. Detectives are still working the case, and charges are pending.
