Police charge man after he allegedly tried to abduct child & threatened officer in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A 27-year-old is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to abduct a child, broke into an apartment, and threatened responding officers on Wednesday night.

North Charleston officers responded to a report of a home invasion at an apartment complex on Tropicana Road, learning from dispatch that a suspect had broken a window and was attempting to take a child.

At the scene, officers detained the suspect. A woman at the residence said the suspect was the father of the two-year-old, tried to take the child despite being told it was too late and cold. She added that the suspect is known to be violent and is not allowed at the residence, according to the police report…
