Kalamazoo County Dems to host community forum on ICE activity, rights, and public safety

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -A committee of the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party says in response to increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity across the country and events in Minneapolis, they are hosting a public forum next month focused on community safety, civil rights, and preparedness.

The speakers at the event February 3 will include Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller, Kalamazoo Vice Mayor Drew Duncan, and Lily Eggeres of the American Civil Liberties Union. It will take place at the Crawlspace Comedy Theatre, 315 West Michigan Avenue, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Do Something Committee of the party says event focus on how residents can understand their rights, how local government and law enforcement respond to federal enforcement activity, and how neighbors can support one another during times of uncertainty…
