Lancaster declares snow emergency, opens parking garages for free ahead of weekend storm

LANCASTER, Pa. — With up to a foot of snow forecast this weekend, Lancaster City officials are urging residents to clear their cars from city streets and take advantage of free parking in city garages as crews prepare to plow.

During a Friday press conference, leaders from multiple city departments outlined a coordinated snow plan, centered on keeping emergency routes clear and giving public works crews the space they need to operate safely.
