East Providence nursing home residents displaced due to roof leak

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The residents of an East Providence nursing home were forced out into the cold on Friday.

According to the Rhode Island Department of Health, everyone who lives at Orchard View Manor is being relocated to other facilities for their safety, due to a leak in the roof.

Spokesperson Joseph Wendelken initially told 12 News that the 72 residents of the second floor were moved Thursday night. He said about half were moved to the first floor, while the others were taken to other facilities…
