State police arrested a Rochester man on felony weapon charges after troopers spotted a handgun during a traffic stop on Portland Avenue.
Troopers stopped a vehicle near Dickinson Street on Jan. 16 after observing traffic violations. During the stop, they identified the front-seat passenger as Eric Gevon Moye Jr., 23, of Rochester, according to state police.
While speaking with Moye, troopers saw a handgun partially concealed in his jacket pocket. Police removed him from the vehicle without incident and recovered a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm handgun with a round in the chamber and additional ammunition in the magazine.
