San Anselmo-based Spirit Residential Group plans to transform the nearly 7-acre wooded property into a five-story high-end residential complex with 71 independent living units and 35 assisted living units including memory care in Strawberry, an unincorporated waterfront community on the west end of the Tiburon peninsula.
The development taps into a need for more senior housing in Marin County, which has one of the oldest populations in California. But its scale has alarmed some neighbors who are suing the developer and the county to halt the project…
