(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Coroner has identified a pedestrian who was hit and killed near Downtown earlier in January.
Around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 2, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of East Espanola Street and North Cascade Avenue, east of Monument Valley Park.

CSPD said when emergency crews arrived, they found the pedestrian dead on scene. The driver of the involved car remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
The initial investigation indicates that the car was heading north on Cascade approaching Espanola Street when the pedestrian attempted to cross Cascade at Espanola and was hit. At this point in the investigation, CSPD said neither impairment nor speed appear to be factors in the crash…
