LYON TWP. – Several hundred residents attended a meeting on a controversial data center on Jan. 22 at South Lyon East High School.
The meeting, hosted by township officials and moderated by facilitator Jay Johnson, featured multiple panelists from those involved including DTE Energy, construction firm Walbridge, and Verrus, a new California-based data center company. The forum was intended to answer questions and concerns about the 1.8 million-square-foot, six building project, which was approved by the planning commission in September.
But with a two-hour timeframe and more than 400 questions received for panelists to address, many residents left without the answers they sought.…
