Early voting begins for New York State Senate seat

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Saturday marked the first day of early voting in the race to fill Mayor Sean Ryan’s vacant state senate seat.

There are 15 locations open for early voting in the towns covered by the 61st Senate District, including Amherst, Grand Island, Buffalo and the City and Town of Tonawanda.

This special election will decide who will fill the seat for the remainder of the year. Democratic Erie County Chairman Jeremy Zellner and Republican Dan Gagliardo, who ran for Amherst Town Supervisor last year, are on the ballot…
