Ohio’s largest teacher’s union issues guidance about ICE on or near school grounds

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Educators’ concerns about ICE activity in schools have prompted Ohio’s largest teachers’ union to issue guidance to its members.

The Ohio Education Association represents more than 120,000 educators statewide. In January, the union sent a letter to members advising them on what to do if ICE appears on or near school grounds in Ohio. The union says it issued the letter after receiving questions from educators about immigration law enforcement.

The Education Association shared a copy of the letter with Local 12 and says there has been widespread misinformation online about what the guidance entails…
