FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A significant winter storm will bring heavy snow to Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio tonight through Sunday, creating dangerous travel conditions and prompting several area churches to close or move services online.
Snow will begin gradually late today and become widespread around midnight, with slick conditions developing as accumulations build. By Sunday morning, a few inches of snow are expected to already be on the ground.
The heaviest snow will fall between late morning and throughout Sunday afternoon. Most of Northeast Indiana can expect 5 to 8 inches of snow, while areas to the southeast — including portions of Adams, southern Wells, and Jay counties — could see 7 to 10 inches.
The system will push out of the area between 6 and 9 p.m. Sunday.

Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel Sunday and to allow extra time if travel is essential. Four-wheel drive or chains may be necessary on secondary roads. Give plows plenty of time to work on roads.
