‘Success’: Central Valley prosecutors weigh in on Prop 36 year review

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – It’s been one year since Prop 36 took effect. Passed in December of 2024,  increases the penalties for certain drug and retail theft crimes.

YourCentralValley spoke to Fresno, Tulare, and Madera Counties, and they say they’ve all been able to uphold the job they set out to do, which is holding repeat offenders accountable. But they say limited funding has been challenging.
