East Tennessee counties activate snow emergency plans as winter weather increases danger on roads

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Multiple counties in East Tennessee have activated their snow emergency plans as winter weather continues to make its way through the region.

Morgan County was the first to activate its plan. According to EMA Director Ethan Webb, both primary and secondary roadways are treacherous.

Webb said the plan can lead to delayed response times when people call. As of Saturday afternoon, he said officials are still answering calls as they come in and as a wintry mixture comes down…
