A Summerfield woman was arrested on drug charges after law enforcement found narcotics in her purse and underwear.
A deputy stopped 34-year-old Kristine Lee Gonzalez as the passenger of a blue 2007 Toyota near Quality Suites in Wildwood around 6:55 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The tag had been checked and determined to be assigned to another vehicle.
The deputy first spoke to the male driver who advised that Gonzalez owned the vehicle, but it was not registered. The tag actually belonged to his car, which was not running at the time, the report said.
Gonzalez then agreed to hand over her ID. She reached into her purse and picked up a clear zippered bag with multiple things inside before quickly putting it back. But the deputy had already seen a clear plastic baggie with a white crystalline substance inside the bag. He asked about it, and she claimed it was just pocket lint, the report said…
