Silver Spring restaurant fire leaves firefighter injured; restaurant closed

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A firefighter was injured after a fire broke out at a Montgomery County restaurant Saturday afternoon.

In a post on the X platform just after 10:40 a.m., Pete Piringer with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said crews were responding to a fire at a restaurant at 11400 Cherry Hill Road.

There, firefighters found a fire coming from the kitchen of Campestre Chicken in the Maryland Farms Shopping Center, with the flames extending into the restaurant’s duct work.
