Grand Strand, Pee Dee school districts adjust schedules because of expected winter storm

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The following school districts have announced schedule changes because of the winter storm expected this weekend across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee areas.

  • Dillon School District Three will shift to an e-learning day on Monday.
  • Dillon School District Four will be closed on Monday; it will be an e-learning day for students.
  • Florence School District 3 schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday. All after-school activities are canceled except for Scranton Elementary’s Tiger Den and J.C. Lynch Elementary’s Wildcat Den. Employees should report to work at their regular scheduled times, provided travel conditions allow them to do so safely.
  • Florence School District Five will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday.
  • Horry County School has canceled all extracurricular activities for Saturday and Sunday, including athletic/extracurricular events and other concerts. The district will issue an update to staff and parents no later than 11 a.m. Sunday, about any potential schedule changes for Monday.
  • All Saints’ Episcopal Day School in Florence will have a two-hour delay on Monday.
  • Trinity Collegiate School in Darlington will have an e-learning day on Monday.

Also in the Pee Dee, the Florence Regional Airport has canceled a Saturday flight from Charlotte to Florence, four Sunday flights — two to Charlotte and two to Florence from Charlotte — and one on Monday from Florence to Charlotte.
