Several Myrtle Beach area golf courses are planning to close down temporarily as extreme winter weather approaches the Grand Strand.
Extremely cold temperatures and wintry weather is expected to hit the Myrtle Beach area over the weekend and early next week. While recent forecasts suggest that precipitation could be limited to cold rain as opposed to freezing rain, hazards are still possible, and local municipalities and businesses are preparing accordingly.
