St. George Fire responded to sulfuric acid exposure at local high school

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The St. George Fire Department investigated a hazardous material incident at St. Michael’s High School from Jan. 15.

According to SGFD, fire squads responded to a hazmat call in the 17500 block of Monitor Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw crowds of students evacuating the building, stemming from a staff member experiencing dizziness from what they believed to be leaking fumes from a chemical storage closet…
