CREOKS Winter Shelter prepares to give people safe, warm place to stay during winter storm

TULSA, Okla. — The CREOKS Winter Shelter, located near East Admiral Place and South 73rd East Avenue, said they’re prepared to give people a safe and warm place to stay throughout this weekend’s winter storm.

“We’re taking in a lot of our unhoused neighbors and giving them a safe and warm place to stay, especially during the really dangerous temperatures that are about to hit us,” said Amber Gutierrez, the Chief Communications Officer for CREOKS Health Services. “We’re providing not only a safe place to stay, but they’re getting three meals a day and they’re getting in contact with services should they need that as far as trying to find more permanent housing, if they need to or want to locate a job going forward or anything else that we might be able to help them out with.”

Gutierrez said the shelter will be providing activities to help prevent boredom and to keep everyone engaged as the cold temperatures continue over the next several days…
