3 injured, including suspect after shooting involving officer in Wheat Ridge: police

Wheat Ridge, Colo. (KDVR) — One person was hospitalized after an Edgewater police officer fired a gun in the area of 32nd Avenue and Pierce Street in Wheat Ridge.

In a social media post, the Edgewater Police Department said the incident began in Edgewater and ended up at the Wheat Ridge intersection.

According to Edgewater police, an officer attempted to contact the driver of a GMC Yukon. Police said the driver accelerated away from the officer just after 10:30 AM on Saturday.

A few minutes later, police said the driver of the Yukon hit a Honda Pilot with one person inside near the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Pierce Street in Wheat Ridge. The driver then continued to crash into the garage of a nearby home, according to the department…
