Warehouse fire Saturday in Northeast Portland causes no injuries

No injuries were reported after a large warehouse caught fire early Saturday morning in Northeast Portland, despite a list of conditions that made attacking the blaze more difficult than normal.

Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to a fire in a commercial building around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, near Northeast 127th Avenue and Marx Street. Firefighters arrived to find a large column of smoke coming from the roof and out of several bay doors.

The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm due to the large size of the warehouse building, which was later determined to contain several businesses. No employees were in the buildings, so fire crews began attacking the fire from above with so-called “master streams”…
