AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – The city of Akron is preparing for this weekend’s snowstorm by pre-treating roads with brine before snow begins falling.
Crews are currently using brine vehicles to treat residential areas throughout the city, according to Public Works Manager Jon Malish. The operation will expand to cover secondary and primary roads before switching to rock salt Saturday in preparation for the storm.
“Right now we have brine vehicles out dusting down the residential areas. We will move into our secondary and primary. And we will be switching over to rock salt later on into Saturday in preparation for the storm,” Malish said…
