Foot of snow possible in Akron on Sunday, quiet on Saturday

While snow – possibly up to a foot – might be arriving a little later than originally forecast, it’s still coming.

In fact, for a 12-hour period beginning at noon Sunday, there’s a 100% chance of snow in the Akron-Canton area, the National Weather Service in Cleveland says. Previous forecasts said the snow would start piling up Saturday night.

Gov. Mike DeWine issues state of emergency

Saturday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine issued a proclamation proactively declaring a state of emergency because of the damaging and dangerous conditions expected in Ohio.
