AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – With an ice storm moving in, Aiken County officials wanted to make sure there were warming shelters for those who don’t have adequate heat.
The shelters are:
- Friendship Baptist Church at 123 Clearmont Drive in Belvedere, which opened at noon Saturday.
- The Salvation Army at 604 Park Ave. in Aiken.
Also nearby but not in Aiken County is J-E-T Middle School, which is serving as a shelter in Edgefield County. We got to visit the shelter at Friendship Baptist, which was a warm and welcoming place Saturday night.
