A Mass. man was convicted of murder but didn’t pull the trigger — he’s been paroled a 4th time

A man who participated in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Roxbury in 1995 was granted parole for a fourth time this month in a unanimous decision by the state’s Parole Board.

Laron “Ronnie” Elliot was convicted of second-degree murder in May 1997 under a joint-venture theory, meaning he did not directly cause the death of the victim, Cassius Love. Elliot first appeared before the board in 2012 after being sentenced to life with the possibility of parole, but was denied then and at a review hearing in 2014.

But in 2019, the board granted parole to Elliot, only to rescind the decision in 2020. A person’s parole can be rescinded at any time between their parole being granted and their release. A person’s parole is revoked after they are released when they violate a condition of that release…
