HULL – Once music visionary Bill Spence realized the age of big bands was fading out and rock ‘n’ roll was here to stay, he wanted to create a safe space for young teens to hang out and still be able to dance without worrying about causing scuff marks on varnished floors. They needed somewhere to go and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) dances typically turned up their noses to this new music frenzy.
