Local grand jury issues indictments for endangerment, drug trafficking crimes

A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for wanton endangerment and drug trafficking crimes on Friday.

Thirty-one-year-old Jayontez Poindexter of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he reportedly assaulted a woman and pointed a handgun at her on December 3, 2025. Poindexter was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, second-degree terroristic threatening, possession of marijuana and fourth-degree assault.

Forty-seven-year-old Terry Harris of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he was reportedly involved in an endangerment incident and kicked the arresting officer in November 2025. Harris was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening, menacing, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain insurance and having no vehicle registration…
