RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a 25-year-old man is in custody after reportedly trying unsuccessfully to steal a vehicle from a Columbia-area car dealership on Saturday.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to Columbia City Cars in the 6400 block of Two Notch Road around 2:40 p.m., where employees said a man had implied he had a gun by motioning to something in his clothing. Employees said he then demanded the keys to a vehicle and attempted to steal one when he received them, but was unable to do so.
