Post-game: Capel on the loss to N.C. State, fan support and more

Pitt coach Jeff Capel met the media after the Panthers lost to N.C. State at the Petersen Events Center on Saturday and talked about the loss, the fan support in home games and a lot more. Here’s video and a full rundown of what he said.

Capel: Congrats to the N.C. State. They made plays down the stretch to win the basketball game. Timely threes and probably, most importantly, free throws. I thought we fought, you know, I thought we put ourselves in a position where we had a chance. But the missed free throws are deflating. And then to have five assists and nine turnovers in the second half.

You know, we had a lead. When you have a chance to extend leads with free throws and you miss. When you have a chance to cut a run and you miss free throws – we’ve obviously really struggled with that area. We got to the line 25 time, but, you know, we didn’t capitalize on it…
