Monroe County urges residents to prepare as dangerous winter storm approaches

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is urging residents to take precautions as heavy snow, powerful winds and dangerously cold temperatures are expected to impact the region through Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory and Winter Weather Advisory for Monroe County through 10 a.m. Saturday. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph, with wind chills dropping as low as 25 degrees below zero, creating hazardous travel conditions and safety concerns.
