11 AM SUNDAY UPDATE
Freezing rain has moved through the region, and we have a few more hours of potential freezing rain for the majority of the area before temperatures warm up above freezing, turning the ice threat to just a pure rain threat.
Here’s what to expect moving forward.
Cloudy and cold weather will continue for the Grand Strand through the afternoon with drizzle at times. Rain picks up in intensity on Sunday evening and night, with thunder possible.
As temperatures are predicted to approach 60 degrees, icy conditions will not occur. Travel and power issues are not anticipated. By Monday morning, roads should dry out, preventing concerns regarding black ice after the rain ends.
For inland zones, cloudy and cold weather will continue for the Pee Dee and Border Belt through the afternoon with freezing drizzle at times…
