Deadly I-495 Crash In Fairfax County Had Nothing To Do With Snow, State Police Say

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and a sedan in the northbound lanes of the interstate at Backlick Road in Fairfax County, according to authorities.

Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 8:24 p.m. on Jan. 24, after the driver in a sedan was heading south on I-395 to I-495, lost control, went off the side of the road, struck a jersey wall, and smashed into a truck stopped on the side of the road, police said.

The driver of the sedan was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries…
